      Job Title: Machinist


      Job Description

      This position is a machinist role in a manufacturing company. This role supports the assembly team by creating parts needed to build drills, primarily making rotors. The machinist will work with highly productive Mazak lathes and occasionally move parts to a less utilized lathe.

      Responsibilities

      • Set up and operate lathes, primarily Mazak lathes.
      • Perform minor edits on programs using G code or other controls.
      • Load material into the machine and run production.
      • Adhere to production schedules ranging from 6-12 parts to 100+ parts, taking up to 2 days to complete orders.
      • Maintain tolerances of +/- .002.
      • Utilize quality tools such as mics and calipers.
      • Perform basic math with decimals and fractions.
      • Occasionally use a Bridgeport to drill holes in parts.
      • Operate a forklift to move materials as needed.

      Essential Skills

      • 2+ years of machining experience on mills or lathes.
      • Set up experience.
      • Blueprint reading.
      • Experience holding a tolerance of +/- .002.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Manual lathe or mill experience.
      • Forklift or hoist experience.
      • Programming experience.

      This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LA PORTE, Indiana.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
