- HNC/HND in an electrical discipline or equivalent experience plus completion of a time-served apprenticeship
- To be fully conversant with core trade, i.e. Electrical and have a good working knowledge of associated trades, e.g. mechanical and gas services.
- To have a good understanding of asbestos awareness and be fully conversant in dealing with suspicious samples and working in the vicinity of asbestos products.
- To be fully conversant with the Health Boards Fire Defence Policy.
- Appropriately empowered via training and/or experience to undertake statutory tasks, e.g. electrical testing.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant HTM's.
- JIB Registered
- Time served apprenticeship.
- Completion of a structured training programme to include IEE 17th Edition Regs.
- Good working knowledge of lighting systems, power systems, nurse call, cardiac arrest and fire alarm systems.
- Hospital engineering experience
- Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
- Ability to travel between sties in a timely manner
- Able to participate in the On Call rota, available to undertake overtime when reqiured by the service

Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Electrical Maintenance Craftsperson within the Estates Operational Maintenance team based at Bronglais Hospital.
The post holder will support the site operational management staff with the Electrical day to day operational Engineering maintenance, which will include autoclaves, washer disinfectors , fire alarm systems, nurse call systems, PAT testing etc.
The post holder will be expected to undertake essential on-call duties as part of the on-call team.
Main duties of the job
The Electrical Craftsperson will be part of a team ensuring that Electrical plant and equipment are maintained to an appropriate standard to support clinical service departments in their prime task of treating patients.
The post-holder will be an integral part of a strong site based locality team structure.
Ensure maintenance tasks are fulfilled.
Performs work including activities which are complex and/or non-routine.
Responsible for calibration and fault finding on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment.
Installation of new equipment and also new electrical services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
