Our client, a premier manufacturer local to Baltimore, MD is searching for a Maintenance Mechanic. As a Maintenance Mechanic, your primary role involves the upkeep and repair of machinery, equipment, and systems. Leveraging your technical expertise and adept problem-solving abilities, you'll diagnose and resolve issues swiftly, ensuring machines operate at peak efficiency and downtime is minimized.

Responsibilities:
* Inspect and test machinery and equipment for visual defects
* Listen and identify unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction
* Collaborate with other team members to discuss machine operation variations, diagnose problems, and repair machines
* Assemble and disassemble machinery to conduct repairs as needed
* Sanitize and lubricate machinery and equipment
* Install and repair electrical apparatuses such as transformers, breakers, switches, receptacles, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment
* Repair and maintain the physical structure of equipment
* Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
* Perform preventative maintenance on equipment

Work Environment:
* Fast moving work environment with, in, and around industrial machinery
* Utilizing Material Handling Equipment daily
* Cold storage environment - production rooms are kept at a constant 32 degrees (and
below in certain areas)
* High-volume noise environment

Job Requirements:
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED), vocational school preferred
* Experience with Crown/Raymond equipment a plus, forklift electrical systems, mechanic and hydraulic systems preferred
*Manufacturing/industrial electrical and/or tig welding experience is a huge plus!
* Must be interested in becoming certified to operate equipment

Physical Requirements:
* Must stand in one place for 30% of the shift (8+ hours per day)
* Capability to walk throughout department for 70% of the shift (8+ hours per day)
* Ability to withstand cold storage temperatures for extended periods of time
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
* Requires the frequent use of both hands and arms
* Requires the ability to lift overhead using both arms
* Capability to bend, twist, and squat as needed throughout the shift
* Must be able to frequently push, pull, kneel, bend and reach
