JOB DESCRIPTION :

Sehlke Consulting is seeking candidates with Financial Management and commercial loan and mortgage experience. Candidates will be qualified and capable of providing accounting and financial consulting support in a dynamic environment. Candidates will be required to support accounting policy and procedures development, financial planning and analysis, financial budgeting and forecasting, implementation of new accounting pronouncements, accounting pronouncement analysis that impacts financial markets, accounting operations support (including month/quarter/year-end close assistance), special accounting projects (e.g. fair value accounting for mortgage products, and Housing Finance Reform), internal controls over financial reporting improvements (ICOFR), loan-level accounting database analysis, and audit readiness and remediation.

Duties and expectations include, but are not limited to the following:

• Review business processes and improve the effectiveness of its financial management functions, internal controls, performance measures, and compliance with reporting requirements;
• Understanding of commercial accounting principles, FASB/Commercial and FASAB/Federal regulations, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars, Treasury Financial Manual, and mortgage industry best practices;
• Provide programmatic support to all initiatives, including SME coordination, as directed;
• Assist in the development of local processes by providing research, analyses, and information for measurable outcomes for improvement procedures;
• Develop statistical analyses and maintain and utilize data management techniques to manage high volume data;
• Support the integrity of financial reporting data by utilizing financial operation best practices and procedures;
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS :

On-boarded individuals will have to undergo a soft background check to be cleared to work on the contract (fingerprints, ID verification, paperwork).

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :

Mandatory: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance required.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

Certified Public Accountant (CPA), required.

Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), and Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

5-8+ years of experience in a related field; experience with commercial loans and banking is a plus.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills including optimal time management and ability to handle multiple tasks/projects. Ability to critically examine, evaluate, and problem solve. Ability to adapt to rapidly changing and time-constrained environments.
