      Sentara Health is currently seeking a full-time remote Manager, Actuary.

      Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift

      Standard Working Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM

      Overview

      The Manager, Actuary is responsible for leading a team of actuaries to analyze and evaluate the financial risk of the organization. The role involves overseeing the development of actuarial models, performing complex data analysis, and providing strategic recommendations to support business decisions, financial reporting, and risk management.

      Manage and mentor both actuarial and non-actuarial staff in support of rate development, rate filings, rating factors, IBNR and other financial and actuarial reporting. The Manager, Actuary will also be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and as needed developing tools used by underwriters.

      Managing the accurate and timely data and financial analysis on various actuarial/financial project for pricing of Health Plans offered benefits plan accordingly.

      Education

      • Bachelor's level degree

      Certification/Licensure

      • Must be a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries

      Experience

      • 5 years of actuary experience required

      • Commercial group, pricing, and funding pricing experience highly preferred

      We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$101,504.00-$188,510.40Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
