      The Manager of Brand Design is responsible for leading and managing OCHIN’s brand expression across all channels, touchpoints and experiences and is well-versed in translating business and technical concepts into human-centered designs that are clear, compelling and consistent. A skilled leader, this role supervises direct employees and creative agency partners and works across the department to design visually compelling campaign strategies that amplify OCHIN as a trusted, innovation partner, health equity champion and valued employer. As a leader on the brand design and digital experience team, this position works directly with colleagues responsible for crafting, publishing and optimizing content for OCHIN’s owned properties to include its external website (OCHIN.org), Intranet (OCHIN Hub + OCHIN Central) and other digital and social media properties.


      Essential Duties

      • Brand Design and Brand System Management
      • Manages OCHIN’s visual brand identity and expression by defining and developing design strategies and standards that personify and bring to life OCHIN’s mission, vision, values and goals in a compelling and consistent way.
      • Co-champions the development of OCHIN’s brand and editorial style guides to educate and enable OCHIN colleagues to develop on-brand materials
      • Provides design support and counsel to department and organizational colleagues to ensure OCHIN’s brand expression is consistent and meets exacting standards across channels and touchpoints.
      • Works with the broader corporate communications and marketing team to ensure that all digital materials and owned channels align to the OCHIN brand

      Content Design and Digital Experience

      • Champions the development of visual storytelling by advocating for modern design best practices in the development of strategic content and communications tactics and digital experience deliverables.
      • Partners with the digital experience team to regularly review OCHIN digital and social media channel performance and optimize based on findings.
      • Leads the design strategy for marquee communications and marketing deliverables to include OCHIN’s annual report, OCHIN’s user group event (Learning Forum) and OCHIN’s All Staff week
      • Directs design support for C-Suite presentations and other high-profile, thought leadership activities

      Crisis Communications

      • In coordination with the Director of Brand Design and Digital Experience and other team leaders, acts as a brand design and communications lead in crisis and business continuity efforts. Supports emergency response to ensure OCHIN brand protection and clear, consistent communications to OCHIN staff and stakeholders.

      Team Leadership & Mentorship

      • Models OCHIN values and champions a culture of inclusion and belonging in all they do.
      • Nurtures the professional skills and development of junior staff and direct reports through coaching and mentorship.
      • Acts as a liaison for the Communications and Marketing team and an advocate for our members when collaborating with other OCHIN teams and departments.
