Increasing the sustainability of facilities across the community college network
Building a climate-ready workforce to meet the challenges of energy transitions, and climate- and climate policy-related economic disruptions
Assisting communities in strengthening their climate resilience
Assists in Foundation-wide coordination of climate-project workflow, including
Pre-proposal idea-generation processes
Proposal preparation and submission
Contracting
Project launch
Project implementation
Internal and external reporting
Creates content for conferences, projects, presentations, grants and contract proposals for a variety of audiences, in a variety of formats
Coordinates and oversees contracting, subgrant, and grant timeline management efforts. Coordinates with internal and external partners, gathers and processes documentation, and tracks timelines
Acts as the main point of contact for assigned project-related communications from internal and external partners, including Finance staff, to monitor fiscal performance
Relevant BS/BA; those with science and/or business backgrounds encouraged.
Minimum 5 years of progressive work experience in managing program/system implementation or project management in a related field.
Track record of success in business development and/or contract and grant submissions required.

What You’ll Do
The Foundation is the official auxiliary non-profit of the colleges, serving as their innovation arm and helping shape climate-related work at the state, district and campus levels. The Center for Climate Futures (CCF) at the Foundation for California Community Colleges helps the 116 colleges in the statewide network take advantage of their unique capacities to shape the state’s climate response.
Using government and philanthropic funding streams, CCF designs and implements projects which contribute to the following:
The Manager will help develop existing lines of work in the climate portfolio and expand the areas of focus to promising new fields, with a focus on clean transportation, community benefit plans, and engagement with tribal communities and nations. The Manager will raise the profile of community colleges and their essential roles in climate action at the state and national levels. The Manager will contribute to securing new funding streams, building and managing the climate team, launching new initiatives, and carrying out climate-related projects at the CCF.

Budgeted Annual Salary Pay Range:
$90,000.00 - $95,000.00Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
