- Assist the VP of Data Analytics in implementing the overall Data Strategy through support in assigned projects.
- Extract the most relevant insights from large data sets to provide concise and impactful metrics in support of understanding the impact GII and the network have within the community.
- Analyze and interpret structured, semi-structured, and unstructured mission and sustainability data from various grants, GII's Gateway system, and the "opportunity accelerator" data to help create a more comprehensive analysis of program outcomes to describe and measure impact.
- Collaborate cross-functionally across the organization, focusing on Mission, Sustainability, and the Member Advancement teams, to mine, analyze and help structure data from databases to communicate program outcomes and impact.
- Work collaboratively across different teams and within the Data Analytics and Business Intelligence team.
- Handle unstructured data and perform investigative analysis and translate data into actionable insights that help guide strategy and mission, and sustainability team efforts.
- Create data visualizations using Power BI.
- Organize large, noisy, structured, and unstructured data across a broad range of applications to better analyze, manage, visualize, and report on the most important and relevant information.
- Collaborate with various teams to gather, analyze, and develop KPIs from mission data developed from grants and the Opportunity Accelerator.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Goodwill mission and grant programs including theory of change and various program models.
- Coordinate with the Performance Analyst position to devise a strategy for collection and calculation of Mission-related KPIs and report KPIs regularly.
- Assist in developing the Sustainability Data Strategy, including analyzing, organizing, interpreting, and presenting sustainability and after-retail data with the goal of helping in developing, monitoring, and working with the team and the enterprise on improving Sustainability KPIs.
- Work on additional strategic projects including "organizational profiles" and "pilot programs."
- Manipulate structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sets to extract meaningful insights.
- Conduct investigative analysis to identify trends, patterns, and key metrics.
- Develop and maintain data visualizations using Power BI to present findings clearly and effectively.
- Work closely with the teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner and assist in recommendations of changed behaviors to improve outcomes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of data analysis methodologies and best practices.
- Coordinate with the Performance Analyst position to devise a strategy for collection and calculation of Mission-related KPIs and report KPIs regularly.
- Assist in developing the Sustainability Data Strategy, including Analyzing, organizing, interpreting, and presenting sustainability and after-retail data with the goal of helping in developing, monitoring, and working with the team and the enterprise on improving Sustainability KPIs.
- Work on additional strategic projects including "organizational profiles" and "pilot programs."
- Strong analytical skills such as data collection, data cleansing, data mining and data visualization (experience with PowerBI, Fabric, and Synapse preferred)
- Excellent organizational skills: planning, ability to prioritize projects, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines, and adhere to schedules.
- Able to translate and communicate data and insights within context of uncertain or emerging trends and has ability to knit disparate pieces of data together to form a compelling narrative that connects insights to business strategies & outcomes.
- Proficiency in standard statistical analysis packages (R, SAS, SPSS, etc.)
- Proficiency in impact analysis.
- Superior interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to move between strategic thinking and tactical execution.
- Ability to relay data and insights to Goodwill members and GII stakeholders in a clear and concise manner that compels action.
- Excellent written, electronic and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team within GII and with local Goodwill members and representatives of outside organizations.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in managing multiple projects and priorities with quality results and on-time delivery.
- Effective with an array of computer applications, webinar and intranet mechanisms. Proficiency in web research, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook required.
- Brings unique perspective to challenge thinking and drive action and willingness to learn and dig below surface-level for actionable discoveries.

SUMMARY: The Manager, Data Analytics will serve as a data analyst for data related to mission and sustainability, as well as additional strategic projects. This position sits on a centralized data team which focuses on utilizing data and analytics to foster a deeper understanding of trends, challenges, and opportunities faced by both Goodwill membership organizations and the Goodwill mission.

RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Frequent contact and collaboration with GII colleagues
GII Members: limited by occasional contact and consultation with local Goodwill member leaders.
External: Communicate with vendors and other relevant parties as needed.
Government Officials: Very limited
SKILLS NEEDED[2]:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration with a focus on Data Analytics, Social Sciences with a focus on Data Analytics, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Coursework in Marketing, Communications or related field desired.
EXPERIENCE:
One to three years' experience in data, marketing, communications or some combination thereof.
DECISION MAKING:
Decision and recommendation-making for developing systems, appropriate responses to identified needs, and consultative guidance to improve performance. Decisions on scheduling tasks, determining priorities, managing time and fiscal recommendations. Monitors and assesses risks and opportunities in the areas of capitalization and finance. Makes recommendations to management for action.
SUPERVISION:
General supervision. The work is reviewed primarily for the quality of outcome. Guidance and review may be required for some projects.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Sedentary, lifting 10 pounds maximum. Walking or standing is required only occasionally. Requires long hours at a computer. Travel is required.
EMOTIONAL EFFORT:
Moderate. Occasional short deadlines. Work environment periodically hectic with occasional periods of moderate stress.
