      Job Description

      As the Manager of Data and Analytics Operations, this role oversees the strategy and execution of technical support and operations for corporate and retail data analytics, reporting, and applications.

      The Data and Analytics Operations Manager leads and communicates directly with thousands of end-users and stakeholders across business, IT, and executive teams. This includes managing short-term development projects, troubleshooting issues to provide actionable solutions, and leading a team of onshore and offshore resources, along with external consulting partners. In this role, the manager will drive improvements in the data and analytics customer experience by recommending and implementing system enhancements, optimizing processes, establishing quality controls, and proactively monitoring the performance of data analytics systems and applications. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for developing data solutions and processes that ensure data quality and standardization, support data governance, and provide timely analytics insights.

      Duties and Responsibilities
      Leadership & Team Management:

      • Proven track record in leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams, including data engineers, production support, and service desk staff. Conducts performance reviews and fosters professional growth.
      • Guides cross-functional collaboration and manages cross-functional projects to meet organizational goals.
      Project & Process Management:
      • Manages project timelines, resources, and issues, delivering solutions within scope, timeline, and budget.
      • Designs, develops, and implements data solutions that meet business requirements, data quality standards, and delivery timelines.
      • Establishes and automates reporting processes, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and quality across all data and analytics projects.
      • Develops and maintains tracking systems for technology requests and incident management to expedite problem-solving.
      Incident & Problem Management:
      • Oversees tiered escalation support (Tier-3/2/1) and ensures timely incident resolution, platform optimization, and system stability.
      • Provides technical direction for incident management and problem resolution, ensuring root cause analysis and timely solutions.
      • Leads continuous improvement efforts in incident response, including system automation, root cause analysis, and platform stabilization.
      Communication & Stakeholder Management:
      • Develops and communicates IT operational guidelines, change management processes, and updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
      • Manages vendor relationships, ensuring effective collaboration and performance with IT service providers and external data partners.
      • Builds and nurtures relationships across departments, ensuring alignment with business goals and promoting IT capabilities.
      Strategic & Security Oversight:
      • Contributes to the strategic alignment of IT functions, ensuring support operations align with organizational objectives.
      • Supports disaster recovery and business continuity planning, ensuring preparedness for critical events.
      Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence:
      • Proactively identifies and implements improvements across IT support processes, tools, and procedures.
      • Stays current with industry trends, implementing new technologies and methods to enhance service delivery.
      • Develops and tracks KPIs to measure service desk and IT operations efficiency and identifies areas for improvement.
      • Oversees the development of a comprehensive knowledge base to promote self-service and reduce support requests.

      Requirements

      Education and Experience
      Education Requirements

      • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 8 years additional work experience.
      Years of Experience
      • 5+ years of progressive responsibility for data management, data warehouse and/or reporting teams. Previous retail experience preferred.
      • 5+ years of end user support or equivalent experience.
      • 5+ years database experience in the use of reporting, analytical and statistical applications as well as data access tools and data integration methods
      Skills
      • Significant experience with tools such as SQL Server, Oracle, Netezza, Teradata OR cloud tools such as Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, GCP BigQuery, Snowflake, and Databricks.
      • Strong close loop communication skills through both verbal and digital channels.
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
      • Ability to analyze, define, and document requirements for business processes and workflows, including generating diagrams.
      • Ability to evaluate and prioritize multiple requests
      • Adept at rapid prototyping and deployment of stable and maintainable solutions.
      • Strong knowledge of distributed computing, data warehouse, data mining, business analytics and software development.
      • Former cloud experience strongly preferred.
      • Significant experience working with very large data sets and business-level analysis.
      • Recent hands-on experience of data architecture, design, tools, and techniques.
      • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
      • Experience to tracking projects and goals to successful completion (with visible metrics).
      • Ability to stay abreast of significant technological developments that may impact the business.
      • Experience in leading and mentoring a team and working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
      • Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of technical solutions.
      • Perform a variety of complicated tasks while leading/directing the work of others
      • Understanding and experience with project management methodologies is preferred.
      • Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies.
      • Excellent communication skills (oral & written), with ability to communicate effectively across the organization
      • Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products.
      • An analytical thinker that excels at analyzing and understanding data to answer questions.
      • Equipped to handle responsibility, collaborate and excel in a fast-paced, small team environment.

      Physical Requirements
      Corporate - Remote - General office environment requiring ability to:
      • Stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time .
      • Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone and video conferencing.
      • Use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports.
      • The ability to lift up to 15 lbs.

      The anticipated salary range for this position is $123,600 - $185,500 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.
