      This Manager, Employee Relations position reports directly to the Sr. Manager, HR Services. This role provides guidance to leaders/leadership regarding employee relations matters and oversees the internal investigations into employee concerns and complaints and provides recommendations for resolution. This role leads a team of ER Partners who serve as the primary contact for addressing employee concerns and conflicts and manages the internal investigation process to handle internal investigations with dignity and compassion. This position will collaborate and partner with the Corporate and Field HR Business Partners, HR Centers of Expertise, and the legal department on internal investigations. This role works closely with the Human Resources Solution Center and will assist that team with employee calls as needed.

      What You'll Do

      • Directly manages a team of ER Partners in the investigation and delivery of Internal Investigations.
      • Provides consultation to team on execution if obstacles are identified.
      • Includes full-cycle people management responsibilities including, but not limited to: staffing, onboarding, performance management, coaching, engagement, recognition, development and retention of team.
      • Establishes and communicates milestones and checks in regularly to ensure successful execution.
      • POC for escalation issues.
      • Identifies team members' strengths and opportunity to apply skills to work.
      • Provides direct reports with continuous coaching and performance feedback.
      • This role must be able to review various factors and exercise sound judgment in developing solutions and recommendations in the course of internal investigations.
      • Will handle individual investigations as well as review direct report investigations and provide guidance as necessary.
      • Apply knowledge of program objectives and critical thinking and problem-solving skills to further develop the quality and consistency of investigations.
      • Knowledgeable of all HR functions and can explain and/or help employees understand company policies; whether there are policy violations and inform them of resources.
      • Use discretion and sound judgment to communicate and resolve potential issues to further strengthen the perception how we handle HR investigations within the company.
      • Must be a resourceful and creative problem solver.
      • While things may go wrong during an investigation, they should be able to assist all employees handling investigations on the next steps; how to approach unique situations and providing constructive feedback to their direct reports on investigative processes.
      • Listen and monitor calls as needed.
      • Coach, mentor, and build trusting relationships with the direct report team.
      • Must be able to provide strong performance management and guidance to each team member.
      • Maintains current knowledge of relevant human resources procedures and practices and applicable labor laws.
      • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on Employee Relations issues ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws, conflict resolution and performance management.
      • Collaborate with HRBPs and HR partners to develop and implement Employee Relations strategies and initiatives that foster a positive work environment.
      • Provide guidance, coaching and direction to team of Employee Relations Partners on complex employee relations matters.
      • In accordance with Company policies and legal requirements, resolves sensitive situations relating to employee relations matters; investigates and resolves employee issues and concerns to address root causes, documenting and escalating as appropriate.
      • Utilize investigative techniques with employees and managers to complete thorough investigations.
      • Capture all necessary information to conduct internal investigations into the allegations stated by the employee or candidate calling the hotline. This includes taking calls, reviewing intake reports drafted by staff, and escalating as needed to appropriate parties.
      • Have the ability to summarize complex issues and investigations and make recommendations to the Legal department.
      • Interpret and apply understanding of Corporate, Talent Solutions, and Protiviti policies and processes and provide guidance and clarification concerning Harassment, Sexual Harassment, Discrimination, Wage and Hour, hostile work environment, and other civil rights violation calls.
      • Work with Corporate and Field Leaders, HRBP's and the legal department to ensure all information is provided.
      • Follow up with leadership on action planning and training as necessary as an outcome of the investigation.
      • May counsel employees concerning work-related issues and the outcome of investigations; drafting and implement formal performance management documentation.
      • Ability to see situations from all perspectives and work through conflicts and complex interpersonal situations for the best possible outcomes for everyone involved.
      • This role will also manage escalated ADA requests.
      • Collaborates with employees, managers/supervisors, the Benefits team, other members of the HR team, as needed, to support employee needs and develop and implement effective solutions for accommodation and leave-related issues
      • Conducting internal investigations is a critical process for addressing and resolving potential issues within the organization. These investigations can involve various areas including compliance, ethics violations, fraud, harassment and other workplace misconduct.
      • This role will ensure that the process for investigations is followed including the initial assessment and planning, receiving/documenting the complaint, determining the best qualified impartial investigator, preparation for the investigation including reviewing relevant policies and procedures and gathering information.
      • Conducting the investigation including any/all relevant witnesses, reviewing any documentation, analyzing the information gathered and providing a clear recommendation on remediation.
      • This role must communicate the results and recommended actions to the appropriate parties, including senior leadership and HR Business Partners.
      • This role will develop the internal investigation process in conjunction with the Sr. Manager. This includes creating sustainable investigative templates; investigative note taking techniques; tracking mechanisms; trending information reports and closing letters.
      • Collaborate with Learning & Development to design and implement programs and training that enhances employee and leader skills on performance management, workplace policies and more.
      • Analyze and utilize ER data to assess the effectiveness of the ER program, provide insights on trends and recommendations for improvement


      What You'll Need

      • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
      • 3-5 years of Management Experience
      • Broad HR Generalist knowledge and expertise within the areas of Employment Law and regulations, Leaves of Absence, verifications services, benefits, performance management, and employee relations. 7+ years of HR experience.
      • Strong communications, both written and oral, and strong customer service orientation
      • Can self-start and maintain a positive, upbeat and helpful attitude
      • Be a team player who strives for excellence
      • Flexibility with scheduling to cover North American time zones.
      • Must have attention to detail
      • Call center experience a plus
      • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where multi-tasking is a must while continuing to maintain a positive, constructive and professional demeanor. Ability to operate and advise in "gray" areas.
      • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with discretion
      • Proven experience in Employee Relations and performance management
      • General knowledge of MS Office with proficiency in MS Excel.
      • At least 3 years of HRMS database exp., or other relational database experience.

      The typical annual salary range for this position is shown below and is negotiable depending upon experience and location. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.

      $99,000.00 - $152,000.00
