- Providing administrative leadership to the maintenance of the Company’s business posture
- Partnering with program management, engineering, operations, and other teams to review financial data
- Ensuring alignment across organizations
- Supporting proposal pricing, fact finding, and contract negotiations with customers
- Providing assessments on risk, and help provide overall strategy to price and profit targets
- Supporting Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting and processes
- Analyzing data to support the accuracy of financial forecasts and measure the business units financial health
- Leading the Annual Operating Plan development, and tracking performance throughout the year to: revenue, profitability, and cash targets
- Advising direct reports in the resolution of operational problems based on specific goals, Company directives and procedures and meeting established schedules
- Establishing, executing, and recommending proactive changes
- Establishing accounting and auditing controls and monitors their correct application to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and correct classification of amounts recorded and reported
- Providing direction and guidance to direct reports
- Perform as well as supervising the development of financial data and systems
- Providing technical interpretation of laws, regulations, accounting, auditing principles and other related issues
- Developing and planning for improved performance in the area of general financing, cost reductions, and asset management
- Managing internal audit activities including evaluating and recommending management controls designed to safeguard the Company resources, promote growth and ensure compliance with governmental laws and regulations
- Conducting briefings and project review meetings for internal and external representatives
- This position requires knowledge of Federal, state and local regulations governing assigned program areas, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and transactional accounting systems, Government contract regulations (Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR); accounting, auditing, financial principles and practices; effective communication and facilitation methods; computer capabilities and applications; principles and practices of public and business administration.
- This position requires advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, general modeling experience, demonstrated supervisory skills, including the ability to plan, organize, coordinate, direct and control the activities of the assigned organization; and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, individual contributors.
- This position requires the ability to recommend and implement changes and/or improvements; plan and implement training programs; analyze and make effective recommendations regarding accounting, auditing and financial directives, and procedures; interpret and apply federal, state, local policies, procedures, laws and regulations and company policies, directives and procedures.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
Sr. Manager of Financial Operations
This position will report to the Aerojet Ordnance Tennessee General Manager/Site Lead and will have a matrixed reporting structure with Corporate Finance. The Manager of Financial Operations will be responsible for the maintenance of financial records and the development of financial reports, statements, and forecasts, will provide guidance pertaining to the accounting, financial, and auditing matters of other departments, will perform short and long-range planning; and ensure that financial, accounting and auditing activities fall in accordance with Company policies, directives and procedures, sound business practices and are in compliance with the Department of Defense regulations.

Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires U.S. Citizenship or status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
