      GENERAL PURPOSE:

      The Manager of Communications and Global Crisis Management is responsible for leading and supporting the daily functions of the Ross Investigations & Safety Center (RISC).
      The RISC is a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC); operating 24/7/365 and is responsible for helping maintain a safe environment for all company associates, vendors and guests.
      This position leads a team that has direct ownership over the following areas: Monitoring and communicating global threats/events, travel related (safety) issues, weather impact, and various communication topics which could impact the business.
      As part of the RISC team, the Manager leads a team of Senior Analysts, Analysts, and Associate Analysts to execute all phases (preparedness, response, recovery, improvement) of Ross’ Store Crisis Management Program.
      This includes ensuring processes are clear and documented, ongoing management of all inboxes, and communicating incidents to the company.

      The base salary range for this role is $87,700 – $132,400. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

      Crisis & Communications Expertise
      • Develop a deep understanding of operational risks and drive response processes to minimize these risks through a continuous cycle of preparedness, response, recovery, and improvement.
      • Support response efforts to address serious incidents; providing timely and accurate communication to appropriate leadership
      • Support the communication component of Ross’ crisis response program
      • Provide crisis, threat and safety leadership as an HQ Incident Leader; engage cross-functional support teams to support stores and associates.
      • Develop and maintain an expertise in Ross’ crisis response best practices and processes
      • Establishes effective and consistent global safe and secure performance measurement, communication protocols and analyst playbooks
      • Responsible for communicating incidents and crisis response for stores, offices and buildings to include the development, management and communication, training and technologies to enhance the RISC team on crisis and incident response

      • The manager will also be responsible for new technologies and innovation to support organizational enhancements.
      • Develop, implement and lead RISC initiatives pertaining to Vendor Contracts, Training, Crisis Response and other assigned projects.
      • Spend time developing direct reports through the use of IDP’s, computer-based training and partnering Human Resources to roll out and facilitate training curriculum
      • Perform other responsibilities, projects and investigations as assigned.

      QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

      • BA degree or greater is desired, preferably in Communications, Human Resources, Marketing, or Business
      • 5-7 years of related Communications or Retail work-experience
      • 3+ years of previous management or supervisory experience required
      • Must have proficiency in and knowledge of computer software including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills
      • Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve problems
      • Self-motivated individual who can be successful in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision
      • Proven ability to make good decisions under pressure
      • Must demonstrate the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
      • Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented
      • Maintains confidentiality concerning all information and projects

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

      This role requires full-time in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. This position requires the ability to use a computer, work as part of a team, and the ability to communicate with team members and others. Regular attendance also is a requirement of the position.
