Job Description
- Req#: 2059
- Ensures plant processes are properly documented from work instructions through completion of drawings
- Works to continuously improve processes by using Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma tool
- Ensures assembly times are monitored and documented, and related issues tracked, to provide input on needed improvements
- Prepares and revises work instructions for Manufacturing while interacting with hourly employees and office personnel
- Works on special projects including equipment justification, sales equipment redesign/new design and shop efficiency improvements. Conducts feasibility studies, determines manpower and cost estimates, and develops engineering criteria. Performs analyses to develop design options or recommendations for structures, systems and components.
- Supports Lean Initiatives throughout the plant, identifies potential areas for improvement. Working cross functionally with other team members, has primary responsibility for process design and modifications. Continuously improving the work flow and procedures in the assembly of equipment
- Researches, sources, and documents proposals for new equipment and manufacturing methods. Implements solutions when approved
- Performs role on Safety Incident Investigation Teams, as needed. Conducts safety inspections and tasks as required. Creating Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
- Knowledge in tooling/fixtures
- Previous experience in project management leading small groups for projects implementation in manufacturing area (e.g. time studies, equipment installation, lay-out improvement, waste reduction) PMP license preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Manufacturing / Industrial preferred).
- 8-10 years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Welding procedure (Mig, Tig / Laser Welding)
- Exposure/certified in LEAN manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.
- Microsoft office applications used frequently.
- Good interpersonal skills to influence team members.
- Experience using AutoCad, Inventor software packages.
- P.Eng/E.I.T. preferred
- excellent Microsoft Excel; knowledge of VBA
