      The Manufacturing Strategy Senior Manager will lead all site strategic planning across the Solihull 300-acre plant and extended areas of responsibility including Castle Bromwich Operations, Pune Operations and the UK Logistics Operations Centre.

      This role will lead the site and long-range business strategy for the total Solihull Operations footprint, and extended areas of responsibility, which has an operating budget in excess of £600m and responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of over 12,000 people.

      The role will be an excellent fit for a dynamic, high performing individual who is able to work well under pressure, bring fresh ideas and perspective to the team and be a strong business partner across a breadth of teams and topics.

      THE ROLE


      Key Responsibilities

      • Lead, develop, document, promote and deliver the business and site strategy for the extended Solihull Manufacturing business, including developing an understanding of future business and external drivers for change well in advance of need
      • Maintain this overall business strategy as defined by an annual review paper considering future product, people, performance, technological and other emerging opportunities. Including liaison with Manufacturing leadership and Technology Forums to define the sub-strategies required considering business units (e.g. Stamping, BIW etc) and themes such as people, digital, environmental and competitiveness
      • Set long range targets (5-15 years) for key performance indicators and cascade to Integrated Business Plan Owners to develop 1–5-year plans
      • Lead the creation and maintenance of the strategies and associated plan of record including the change control of the strategy through Level 1 Strategy reviews and coordination of strategic business and footprint studies up until the approval of the change, programme financial approval and handover to delivery teams
      • Represent the business in make vs buy and industrialisation studies, ensuring local stakeholders are engaged and approve proposals
      • Represent the business in pre target setting and assumptions to ensure they match the long-range targets and site plans, ensuring local stakeholders are engaged and approve proposals prior to being incorporated in vehicle programme targets
      • Create and maintain the site/s 15-year footprint strategy reflecting the business, product and building plans
      • Create and maintain the multi-year financial plan in cooperation with Finance including total operating costs and capital investment plans
      • Develop a relationship with external and internal funding sources including government bodies and regional development agencies, and secure funding where possible to leverage internal investments
      • Be an ambassador for the plant with external bodies such as local councils and planning authorities, our local community and the internal Industrial Operations, Corporate Strategy and Property teams
      • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

      WHAT YOU’LL NEED

      Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

      • Previous experience in a Leadership role in a complex organisation
      • Senior stakeholder management experience
      • Understanding of property, planning and building management standards and legislation
      • Proven ability to drive strategic outcomes for a complex Manufacturing organisation
      • Proficient communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills (at all levels)
      • Strong networking skills
      • Commercially astute with an ability to anticipate and respond to changes in the industry
      • Proven experience of working in high volume manufacturing environments involving production processes
      • Knowledge and experience of manufacturing technologies and production processes
      • Working knowledge and experience of key business systems and processes, e.g. quality tools and techniques
