      Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

      Job Description

      Position/Location Specific Information

      • Manufacturing Technician II, Second Shift, LVLM
      • This position is based out of our Grand Island, NY site within BioProduction Group.
      • The scheduled shift pattern is Monday to Friday, 2nd Shift 2:30-11:00pm

      What will you do?

      • Use of equipment that includes mixers, mills, blenders, pumps, filtration systems, packaging, and laboratory equipment.
      • Weigh, measure, and check raw materials with the assistance of a computer interface to assure batches manufactured contain accurate materials and quantities.
      • Calibrate and operate manual, semi-automated, and automated manufacturing equipment. Identify and conduct basic troubleshooting for equipment.
      • Follow all safe practices, policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions in controlled environments up to and including classified clean rooms.
      • Complete and maintain compliance with the Quality Management Systems and regulatory requirements.
      • Complete moderately complex tasks related to manufacturing of cell culture media. Perform related duties as required to meet the business goals and requirements.

      How will you get there?

      Education

      • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
      • Formal training in Lean, 5S, or manufacturing processes is preferred.

      Experience

      • Required: Minimum of 1 years of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production or lab setting or related field
      • Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment

      Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

      • Follow multi-step instructions and document accurately for safety and quality.
      • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing processes and adept at identifying practical process improvements.
      • Proficiency in completing and training others effectively to accomplish department’s processes.

      Physical Requirements / Work Environment

      • Capable of lifting, moving up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, squatting, bending, and reaching during tasks.
      • Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including uniform, steel toe shoes, hair net, beard guard (if necessary), safety glasses, and gloves. Additional PPE such as bump cap, face shield, and respirator may also be necessary.

      • Competitive Hourly Pay Rate. $20.00+ starting pay!
      • Additional shift differential for 2nd shift and 3rd shift positions

      Compensation and Benefits

      The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $16.10–$24.15.
