POSITION SUMMARY:
Chanel, Inc., a leader in the luxury goods industry, seeks a Market Director to join our Fragrance and Beauty field team. Responsibilities include leading and developing a team of Account Executives and Education Executives, with a focus on the client and service experience which will ultimately drive sales and lead to market share growth. The Market Director will be responsible for identifying opportunities within their region, partnering with the Head of Sales and Corporate partners to support their market; including but not limited to execution of business objectives, promotional programming with an oversight to market profitability, upholding brand image and talent development.
The ideal candidate has a passion for Fragrance and Beauty, has worked within a Multi Brand Retail and/or Retail environment, and has experience managing significant sales volume. Must have strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Execution• In partnership with the Head of Sales, responsible for executing the overall market business strategies with defined KPIs in mind
• Oversee the development of Chanel Fragrance and Beauty at the retail sales level within assigned territory, focusing on market share growth
• Regularly monitor retail sales and hold team accountable to meeting established retails sales objectives within each MBR door
• Establish a professional and ongoing business rapport with the retail community internally and externally
• Understand how each channel of distribution (MBR, SAB and eRetail) intersects with each other in order to develop overall market strategy
• Ownership of leadership visits, preparing team to speak to relevant business updates within their accounts
• Responsible for managing to a market P&L and adhering to respective Company policies and procedures to maximize ROI
Talent Development• Recruit and develop a strong team across all levels: CM, BA, RSS, Account Executives, Education Executives, with a focus on maximizing potential talent for the future
• Establish a cadence of market and store visit with each Account Executive, Education Executive and Boutique team to maintain visibility into day to day operations and on-going individual and team development
• Alongside Account and Education Executives, monitor, coach and develop services levels at each POS
• Focus on individual and team motivations to help individuals and team focus on areas of pride
Brand Image & Client Experience• Locally negotiate the premium space and location for both permanent and temporary locations
• Ensure that Brand Image is being upheld within respective territory by leveraging any and all available tools and proactively providing feedback/training to your team members• Recruit new clients to the Brand through effective product launches and personalized client events
• Based on market dynamics, increase client loyalty and relationships with the Brand by improving retention through clienteling programs
• Ensure Account Executives, Education Executives and Boutique Directors builds and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with all relevant retail partners, including store and mall management to secure and benefit from preferred vendor status
• Partner with Education team to ensure the development of the Beauty and Fragrance Advisor community
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Suite
• Prior leadership experience
• 5-7 years of relevant experience
• Home office set up
• Travel requirement of approx 50-75%
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift at minimum 40 poundsThe anticipated base salary range for this position is $127,000.00 through $140,000.00. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other components [may/will] include additional compensation, benefits and perks.
