As a member of Guardian’s Market Risk team within Enterprise Risk Management, you will support 2nd line of defense activities safeguarding Guardian’s financial position. Enterprise Risk Management is a proactive group that builds partnerships across the organization via transparent communication. The Market Risk team covers capital, derivatives, and liquidity, plus broader asset/liability (ALM) initiatives. The individual will focus on derivatives portfolio reporting, model maintenance and financial dashboard development, as well as ad hoc projects as Guardian continues to expand its risk management capabilities.
You will
· Collaborate with subject matter experts across Investments, Finance, Actuarial, Risk and Treasury.
· Be exposed to derivative strategies used to mitigate risk to Guardian.
· Monitor derivative hedge effectiveness and communicate results to key stakeholders within Investments and Risk.
· Support the capital modeling/forecasting process, including analyzing large data sets, what-if analysis, and presentations to management.
· Assist in the development of a framework to monitor and stress test key Rating Agency financial metrics.
· Establish and maintain a warehouse of Market Risk deliverables, encompassing both inputs and outputs.
You are
· A proactive, self-motivated person, able to work independently.
· Eager to develop a comprehensive understanding of market risk, risk management and the life insurance industry.
· Able to build relationships across all levels and cross-functional areas.
· Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple deliverables.
· Results oriented and able to execute tasks efficiently.
· Organized with strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate workstreams.
You have
· 3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry.
· Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or other quantitative discipline.
· CFA charterholder, CPA /candidate preferred but not needed.
· Skilled in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
· Experience with Bloomberg and large data sets a plus.
· Proven communication and relationship building skills.
Location
Hybrid – 2 days in office, 3 days WFH in our Hudson Yard, NYC office.
Salary Range
$114,080.00 - $187,415.00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
