- Manage the review, editing, proofreading, and publication of content, including but not limited to alerts, advisories, articles, white papers, newsletters, annual and quarterly reports, marketing materials, and presentations. This includes ensuring that content is consistent with firm style guidelines and has secured the necessary internal approvals; partnering with the Web Manager and the Creative Services team that format content into branded digital communications; and collaborating with other MarCom team members to help distribute and publicize content items using the appropriate channels.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of daily, weekly, and monthly news compilations featuring client matters and select firm news.
- Assist with other ongoing or periodic tasks performed by the MarCom team, such as the drafting, review, and editing of website content, business development materials, advertisement copy, and event-related content, among other items.
- Prepare client highlights, news articles, case studies, and other thought leadership summaries for publication on the firm’s website.
- Help ensure that content used across all marketing communications is consistent with the firm’s brand standards and that all copy aligns with the firm’s style guidelines, which are largely based on the Chicago Manual of Style.
- Contribute to strategic projects that align with the firm's goals and objectives.
- Complete other assignments and projects as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, business communications, marketing, or a related field; a graduate or advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of five years of experience in marketing communications; prior experience in a law firm or professional services marketing is preferred, as is experience with PR agencies.
- Exceptional writing and copy-editing skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality content under tight deadlines. Copy-editing experience strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization and professionalism.
- Familiarity with external communication channels, including email, intranet, websites, and social media platforms, particularly in organizations with large employee audiences.
- Strong collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively and productively with various stakeholders.
- Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and diplomatically in written and verbal formats.
- Responsive to internal client inquiries, with a diplomatic approach to feedback and problem-solving and the ability to produce accurate and timely work product.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and knowledgeable about cloud-based content management and third-party subscription resources.
- Experience with or a willingness to learn shared collaboration applications, such as Microsoft Teams, shared databases, and scheduling tools.

The Marketing Communications Specialist (Writer/Editor) will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and editing high-quality content that enhances the firm’s presence across a variety of external channels. Primary output examples include client-facing alerts, advisories, articles, white papers, newsletters, annual and quarterly reports, marketing materials, and presentations, as well as website and microsite content.
This role requires collaboration with the Marketing Communications (MarCom) team, the firm’s Creative Services team, and attorneys to produce impactful print and digital content aimed at informing and engaging external audiences.Key Responsibilities:

This position is designated to be hybrid as to workplace location. The person in the role may be eligible for remote status.
While a West Coast office location is preferred, the person in the role can be based in other U.S. regions, provided they can cover West Coast hours, specifically 9:00 am to 6:00 pm PT.
The primary location for this job posting is in Palo Alto, but other locations may be listed. The actual base pay offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, professional certifications and licenses, and work location. The anticipated pay range for this position is as follows: San Francisco and Silicon Valley: $81,600 - $110,400 per year Austin, Boston, Boulder, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, Seattle, and Wilmington: $73,100 - $98,900 per year Salt Lake City and all other locations: $65,450 - $88,550 per year
The compensation for this position may include a discretionary year-end merit bonus based on performance. We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
