Marquee Projectionist (Academic Year) - Union South

- Anticipated Schedule
Must have regular schedule availability during nights/weekends and comfort with long shifts (5+ hours long). Shifts are primarily on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings with occasional shifts at other days/times.
- Minimum Hour Expectation
Average of 4-6 hours per shift scheduled, shifts divided among pool of four projectionists, collaboratively scheduled based on availability.
- Unit Hours
Variable, primarily evenings Thursday-Saturday during academic year (no shifts during summer)

Marquee Theater, Union South

Serve as professional technical staff at film screenings in The Marquee Theater at Union South
-
Operate DCP system & Crestron panel for digital projection of DCPs, Blu-rays, DVDs, computers, and other content formats

Provide general event production support including microphone array setup/teardown and basic venue lighting pre-sets

Assist event hosts with any necessary setup or breakdown

Manage inbound and outbound content traffic: check-in, inspect, and test all media thoroughly before use and return ship as requested afterwards

Document events and media through the completion of screening and check-in reports

General upkeep of the projection booth and booth equipment

Participate in ongoing training on all Marquee equipment

Support peer-to-peer training of new projectionists and assist in updating projectionist training materials

Attend regular staff meetings with Film Advisor (Supervisor) and other projectionists

Maintain regular email and in-person communication between Advisor, WUD Film Facilities Associate Director, and other projectionists regarding your areas of responsibility

Actively manage a Google Doc spreadsheet as a means of communicating availability for scheduling

Employ basic problem-solving/troubleshooting skills but know to seek assistance when necessary

Must be able to work with minimum direct supervision

Must be able to work well with customers, co-workers, and supervisors

Experience with WUD Film Committee and film programming is preferred

Due to complexity of training, a one-year commitment is preferred
