WHAT TO EXPECT

This is an opportunity to work in the plant material flow team, responsible for delivering all on plant logistics solutions and infrastructure. Additionally, driving improvement and efficiencies in existing solutions aligned to MP&L strategy. You will be responsible for supervising a team of material flow planners, working colloboratively across multiple manufacturing teams and closely with the lead logistics provider.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

• Planning, procurement, installation and commissioning of production and logistics facilities.

• Assist in the development of the strategy for all material planning, flow and logistics to support new and existing models, ensuring JLR adopts best in class logistics solutions.
• Contribute to the development of cost submissions for future model year or vehicle programmes.
• Manage internal projects (Ignite, kaizens, MVB) through from concept stage to implementation.
• Coordination with our LLP to drive improvements in marketplace and sequencing operations.
• Support SAP implementation team to ensure SAP solution developed meets MP&L/DHL requirements and can deliver the processes developed, utilising where possible SAP standard functionality.
• Development and implementation of new logistics processes to support the introduction of SAP.
• Data analysis, development and implementation of improvement plans. (Layouts, de-sequencing, packaging, internal logistics)
• Investigate and implement new forms of technology.
• Contractor management (approval of RAMS, CJR approvals, supervision and audits)
• Investigation of accidents and incidents and reporting out of close out actions

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Knowledge and Experience

• Previous experience in Supply Chain &/or Logistics
• Good analytical skills and statistical ability
• Experience or knowledge of project management and process improvement
• Supervisory experience
• Microsoft office package expertise
