      The Role

      As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Material Handler. The Material Handler will be responsible for a variety of duties to receive, distribute, assemble and store finished goods into sales warehouse or customer locations as directed. Will also perform materials receipt, disbursement and related activities as directed. Creates and reports Process orders for Finished Goods Manufacturing. Responsible for raw material staging and processing as well as the creation and processing of Finish Goods shipments according to detailed approved procedures and execution of scheduled tasks within a cGMP environment. Ensure materials are available to meet production schedule. This position is responsible for quality and maintaining the highest standards in compliance within company policies, procedures, and all applicable regulations. Accountable for adhering to all EHS guidelines.

      This position is in Pompano Beach, FL.

      Schedule: Monday – Friday from 10:00am – 6:30pm


      The Responsibilities

      • Pull/Return all raw materials required for gel card manufacturing and completes all Process order transactions in the ERP system.

      • Uses miscellaneous material handling equipment (dollies, pallet jack, forklift) to move materials.

      • Maintains Finished Goods Inventory, identifies and/or disposes of expired or damaged inventory.

      • Processes goods supplies including unpacking, verifying, labeling, and distributing to appropriate location. Answer door and receive deliveries.

      • Ensures accurate and up to date inventories of all raw materials and inputs the data into ERP system or Excel spreadsheets. Processes MT Forms by pulling materials for various customer requests and completing transactions in ERP system.

      • Assists in other related material handling activities including maintaining proper documentation of all incoming and outgoing materials and keeping physical inventories.

      • Practice good interpersonal and communication skills.

      • Promote and work within a team environment.

      • Carry out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines including FDA, TUV, EPA and OSHA.

      • Adhere to the safety code of Conduct & EHS policies and attend all required EHS training.

      • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.


      The Individual

      Required:

      • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

      • 1+ years of MD&D/Pharmaceutical experience or related industry experience

      Preferred:

      • Good working knowledge and understanding of systems.

      • Utilizes tools within MS Office, MS Excel and other systems to improve business effectiveness.

      • Accurate Data Entry skills in SAP ERP system.

      • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and logbooks.

      • Review and provide feedback for SOP and Batch Record Revisions.

      • Good communication and written skills.

      • Internal Partners: Incoming Inspection, Inventory Coordinator, Material Handler, QA, Engineering, Manufacturing and Facilities

      • External Partners: Suppliers, Carrier, and External Warehouse


      The Work Environment

      The work environment characteristics are representative of a manufacturing, laboratory, or warehouse environment. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb, bend and stoop; and reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time. Is frequently required to communicate with coworkers. Ability to lift up to 40lbs. Work with blood, blood products and chemicals. Overtime is required, as necessary. Shift work may be required, as necessary. Periodic exposure to 2-8°C temperature controlled coldbox during product transfer.
