      Salary: $80,532.00-$93,247.00 Plus Over-time and Bonuses

      As a Mechanical Designer in TSO, you will creatively use your own ability to come up with concepts to solve complex problems, evaluate design specifications, and take the design project through to completion. This includes, but not limited to; adhering to Design Standards, reviewing specifications, scheduling, 3D modelling, sizing calculations for motors, actuators, bearings, etc., FEA, robot simulation, design reviews, detailed part drawings, assembly drawings, and pneumatic circuit drawings, as well as supporting parts ordering, assembly, modular build, and installation of equipment as required.       Responsibilities:

      • Skilled with mechanical design calculations (motors, reducers, actuators, bearings, stress, lifecycle, etc.)
      • Create accurate and clear detailed manufacturing drawings
      • Create highly detailed part & assembly drawings for ease of manufacturing & Installation of equipment, and ensuring progress and design innovation & evolution are always top of mind
      • Ordering of Purchased and Manufactured Parts
      • Perform detailed robot simulations in Delmia or similar software.
      • Perform cost & hours estimations for design projects
      • Support assembly, installation, and commissioning of automated equipment, working with customers to ensure needs are met

      Position Requirements:

      • 3 to 5 Years of Automated equipment & machine design experience
      • Strong Computer Skills in CAD (Catia, Delmia or similar parametric software) & Microsoft Applications
      • Engineering degree, technologist diploma or equivalent experience
      • Strong hands-on abilities with hand and power tools

      Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

      • Machining Exposure from a design viewpoint (to make good drawings)
      • Welding exposure to support a good understanding of strength of weldments and how to specify welding symbols
      • Project management experience, including scheduling, estimating
      • 3D printing experience (including abilities to design for 3D printing)
      • Safety Standards understanding for equipment safeguarding and safety calculations
      • Perform Detailed Useful FEA in Catia
      • Understanding of PLC Logic
      • Basic understanding of Vision Systems for Robotics
      • Understanding of New Technologies (VR, AR, AI, IoT, etc.), and how they might be applied to improving equipment
      • Production Environment Experience
      • Able to do mechanical design & 3D modelling, in Catia V5
