Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Job Description

The HVAC Designer will be responsible for designing and producing a complete set of HVAC drawings for restaurant construction projects using AutoCAD. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in HVAC design, proficiency in AutoCAD, and a thorough understanding of HVAC codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed HVAC calculations to determine heating and cooling loads, equipment sizing, and system performance.
• Develop and design HVAC systems for restaurant projects, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning in AutoCAD, including equipment selection.
• Produce a complete set of HVAC drawings, including plans, schematics, and details, adhering to project specifications and industry standards.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of HVAC designs within the overall project.
• Ensure all HVAC designs comply with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Take red lines from Sr. Designer and make necessary modifications based on feedback and project requirements.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in HVAC design, AutoCAD software, and industry best practices.

Essential Skills

• Associate's degree in HVAC Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC design, preferably in commercial or restaurant projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD software is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet project deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in retail preferred, but experience in hospitality, education, or healthcare would be transferable.
• Limited plumbing design experience, such as a single bathroom, but can be taught.
• Experience with Carrier HAP for load calculations preferred, but experience with Trane Trace is transferable.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote for candidates outside of the St. Louis area. St. Louis-based candidates are expected to work in the office on Monday and Tuesday every other week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/yr.

for paying a portion (set amount determined by the company) of the additional coverage for
spouse and families. Associates are eligible and make the choice to enroll on the first of the

Dental Insurance
All full time Associates are entitled/provided Group Insurance through a company program. The
employee pays 100% of the premium for themselves and their dependents. Associates are
eligible and make the choice to enroll on the first of the following month after their 30th day of
employment.
AFLAC Insurance
All full time Associates are entitled/provided AFLAC Insurance through a company program.
The employee pays 100% of the premium through payroll deduction for themselves and their
dependents. Associates are eligible and make the choice to enroll on the first of the following
month after their 30th day of employment.
Disability Insurance
ArcVision pays 100% of both a short and long term disability policy along with a life insurance
policy for all eligible Associates. Eligibility begins after the 90 days of employment.
Retirement Plan
After 1 year of continuous employment, Associates are eligible to participate in the company
sponsored 401K plan for tax deferred retirement savings. Eligible employees will be able to
participate in the program on January 1st or July 1st following eligibility.
Holidays
ArcVision recognizes the 6 major holidays. Employees are eligible for Holiday pay after their 90
days of employment.
PTO (Paid Time Off)
The amount of PTO time which an employee is entitled to is dependent upon their length of
continuous full-time service as follows:

Less than one year Prorated (after 90 days)
1 year to 4 years 15 working days
5 years to 9 years 20 working days
10 years or more 25 working days
PTO Birthday
Eligible after 90 days - a single day on or near your birthday. Timeframe explained in more detail
in employee manual
