Job Description

- Supporting the presentation of the Site Quality Surveillance Team in the DWP/EWP (work package) process.
- Preparing and delivering surveillance work packages, which involve tasks such as conducting Surveillance Risk Assessments, developing Surveillance Programs, creating a Surveillance Matrix, designing report templates, and developing and performing training presentations for the site quality surveillance team.
- Contributing to the development, implementation, and monitoring of processes, procedures, and instructions relevant to surveillance activities.
- Assisting with forecasting for the team, considering upcoming site activities and planning 6 months to a year in advance.
- Investigating and identifying pertinent information in documentation related to nuclear safety and other nuclear culture topics, and effectively sharing this information within the Site Surveillance team.
- Organize and deliver awareness session to the Surveillance Performer regarding nuclear and NPP technology topics.
- Proposing actions to develop Nuclear Safety Culture within the NNB Sie Quality Surveillance Team and providing support for their implementation.
- Participating in risk workshops and identifying risks within their scope of responsibility.
- Maintaining communication with other site teams to ensure effective collaboration and timely reporting of activities and outcomes.
- Providing information for weekly and monthly reports.
- A degree in mechanical or nuclear engineering, preferably multi-disciplinary.
- Previous experience working within mechanical engineering, nuclear, welding NDT, or maintenance of nuclear plant systems.
- Experience in power plant design, equipment manufacture, and construction.
- Understanding of safety cases and classification of systems, structures, and components.
- Knowledge of relevant British, French and European standards, EDF Nuclear Technical Specifications and Requirements.
- Demonstrate knowledge of PWR nuclear plant systems and main equipment.
- Basic knowledge of the documentation used in safety-critical construction and fabrication environments, such as Inspection and Test Plans etc.
- Good communication skills and the ability to communicate at various levels, within the business.
- Knowledge of EPR Plant systems
- Practitioner in safety case management
- Knowledge of various EDF Standard Project Procedures and Safety Procedures
- Knowledge of French advantageous
Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, with occasional travel required to Bristol offices.

As a Mechanical Engineer (EPR Plant Systems and Risk Analysis), you will hold the responsibility for developing surveillance risk assessments and drafting surveillance programs. Your role also entails providing guidance, formulating procedures, and offering support to the Sie Quality Surveillance Team and NNB stakeholders.
You will play an important role in facilitating the Site Surveillance team's comprehension of NPP project documentation related to nuclear topics, risk assessment, surveillance level evaluation, and areas of focus identification. This support is vital to enhance their ability to carry out inspection activities effectively.
