What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Design, evaluate, plan, test, and operate mechanical equipment and systems
- Create mechanical designs and detailed drawings
- Write precise calculations and prepare reports/documentation for leadership
- Conduct obsolescence evaluations and assist in finding replacements for outdated systems
- Create and test prototypes to ensure functionality and re-engineer products as needed

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma with at least 11 years of equivalent work experience
- Active DoD security clearance at SECRET level or the ability to obtain one
- Experience with equipment design principles and familiarity with 2D/3D engineering design tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor)
- Proficient in reviewing models and drawings for manufacturability
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with detailed specifications under configuration management
- Direct experience interfacing with U.S. military technical representatives
- Background in working with equipment suppliers and vendors
- Shipboard experience as an operator/maintainer
