      Job Title: Mechanical Engineer


      Job Description

      Prepare all necessary documents to support the interior and structural modification of aircraft such as detail, assembly and installation drawings, specification documents and substantiation reports. Coordinate with outside suppliers, internal departments and regulatory agencies regarding the design, installation, integration, and certification of new interior components to support floorplan modifications. Research specification for component selection. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure specifications are met. Support statement of work creation and bids for new customer requests. Assist service center personnel in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolution of build/modification and test issues and create deviation drawings as required. Work in a team environment.

      Responsibilities

      • Prepare necessary documents for interior and structural modifications including drawings, specification documents, and substantiation reports.
      • Coordinate with suppliers, internal departments, and regulatory agencies for design, installation, integration, and certification of new interior components.
      • Research specifications for component selection and coordinate with suppliers to ensure specifications are met.
      • Support the creation of statements of work and bids for new customer requests.
      • Assist service center personnel in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving build/modification and test issues, creating deviation drawings as required.
      • Work effectively in a team environment.

      Essential Skills

      • Proficiency in CATIA, AutoCAD, and mechanical drawing creation.
      • Knowledge of electrical wiring diagrams and wire routing.
      • Understanding of integration of ECS systems, waste and potable water systems, and other commodities associated with interior installations.
      • Proficiency with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
      • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
      • Ability to handle multiple initiatives effectively.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with two years of relevant experience or a minimum of eight years of practical mechanical design experience in aviation.
      • Knowledge of applicable regulatory certification rules (FAA, EASA, TCCA).
      • Organized individual with the ability to work effectively with various cross-functional individuals, departments, and organizations.
      • Ability to communicate design intent and design resolution effectively.

      Work Environment

      M-F 8-5 in an engineering office setting.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $115.00/hr.
