      Salary Range: $80,532 - $93,247 annually. Plus, overtime and bonuses.

      As a Mechanical Engineering associate with Honda of Canada Mfg., you will work alongside a team and be involved with the design of new and existing equipment, managing projects through theme creation, data collection, costing and budget tracking. You will complete technical investigations, troubleshooting, creating new and updating existing equipment specifications, leading installation, and construction projects, and coordinating and supervising contractors and vendors. You will be responsible for identifying and implementing countermeasures for quality concerns, equipment cycle time problems, as well as providing support for Equipment Services and Production when required. You will also have opportunities to help HCM meet our Triple Zero initiative to become carbon neutral, use clean energy and apply resource circulation.

      Responsibilities:

      • Manage and lead projects of various complexities including initial investigation, project and budget approval, resource management, testing, and implementation.
      • Develop proposals and deliver presentations to all levels of management.
      • Collaborate with various HCM departments such as Quality, Safety, or Purchasing on equipment specification, design, and procurement.
      • Lead and support equipment commissioning, modifications, and installations
      • Create, modify, or review assembly and layout drawings using Catia and AutoCAD
      • Use Root Cause Analysis to develop and implement equipment improvements including equipment safety, quality, efficiency, reliability, and recovery processes.
      • Prepare and complete reports and documentation for downtime, Root Cause Analysis, countermeasure activity, project status updates, and follow-up activities.

      Requirements:

      • Mechanical Engineering degree or Mechanical Engineering Technologist diploma or equivalent training and experience
      • Ability to create and interpret mechanical schematics and drawings
      • Hands on experience integrating and troubleshooting automation equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, or conveyor systems.
      • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint; ability to organize and present data.

      Job Related Must Haves:

      • Ability to support any overtime, sometimes on short notice
      • Ability to support a variety of shifts, sometimes on short notice
      • Valid G Class Driver's License
      • Willing and able to support production as required.
      • Willing and able to travel on short notice (Canadian Passport or B1 Visa Required).

      Preferred Experience:

      • Previous engineering work experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
      • Experience with PLC programming and HMIs.
      • Knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Safeguarding of Machinery, and Industrial Robots and Robot Systems, Pre-start Health and Safety Reviews (PHSR) and TSSA requirements.
      • Strong quantitative and analytical approach to problem solving and decision making.
      • Strong reporting skills using Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheets, Power BI, Sharepoint, or MS Project.
      • Experience developing project scope, schedule creation, and status tracking.
      • Experience coordinating and supervising contractors and support groups to execute planned equipment installation or modifications.
      • Experience creating, managing and tracking project budgets, and regularly
      • Automation equipment experience including hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics.
      • Experience creating and modifying equipment design and layout, and/or process design and flow.
      • Experience with tooling design, load analysis, GD&T.
      • Demonstrated experience with Catia and AutoCAD or equivalent software.
      • Experience implementing environmental and sustainability projects or initiatives
      • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
      • Demonstrated ability to work and problem-solve independently.
      • Demonstrated initiative through leadership and problem investigation and solution implementation.
      • Demonstrates a go-to-the-spot, 4M, hands-on engineering mindset.
