      Role Definition:

      Caterpillar Switchgear Americas (CSA) has an exciting opportunity as a Mechanical Technician in the Alpharetta, GA facility. In this role, will interpret mechanical assembly drawings to assemble electric power system projects. The selected candidate must have the ability to use various hand tools as it relates to sub-pan and systems assemblies. In addition, you must also be able to work within a project team environment and take direction from Project Lead/Supervisor/Manager.

      Responsibilities:

      • Assemble sub-pans, door devices and other pertinent power equipment with minimal supervision according to ISO standards and drawings.

      • Able to apply hardware, engravings, and components according to Caterpillar Switchgear standards.

      • Understand how to read part numbers and attach parts to sub panels, door devices and enclosures.

      • Perform all other duties accurately, timely and be able to meet schedule deadlines.

      • Able to perform any other duties assigned by Lead Person/Supervisor/Manager.

      • Understand the usage of hardware such as screws, bolts, nuts, washers, and tools according to Caterpillar Switchgear Procedures Manual.

      • Lead special projects to support as needed.

      Requirements:

      • High School diploma or GED accompanied with relevant experience.

      Additional Preferred Requirements :

      • Ability to interpret mechanical schematics.

      • Ability to learn new process and procedure within a limited timeframe.

      • Ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.

      • Ability to work within a project team with limited supervision and perform tasks within an expectable timeframe.

      • Ability to produce door penetrations with mechanical aid.

      Summary Pay Range:

      $18.55 - $24.15
