What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Produce articles in support of Military Health System missions
- Collaborate with the Communications Division team to inform article focus areas and outreach
- Manage media relations, including events and messaging
- Collect and develop open-source media content related to Defense Health
- Prepare senior executives for media engagements with background information and messaging
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI clearance
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, English, journalism, or a closely related field
- At least 5 years of work experience in content development, writing, and editing
- At least 5 years of experience in strategic communications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with military health organizations (USAF, USN, USMC, USA, USCG, DHA)
- Public Health or health care administration experience
- Familiarity with DHA, VHA, or DoD communications
- Experience analyzing communications reach and effect
- Comfort working at client offices and participating in internal strategy sessions
