      Job summary

      We are looking for two part-time Medical Administrators for 20 hours per week each, to join our busy but friendly Practice in Wilmslow.

      As part of our Administration team you would be expected to provide an excellent service to our patients.

      You need to be well motivated and friendly with good people skills, enjoy working in a busy environment and being part of a team. You will be able to communicate clearly and effectively, showing understanding, care and assertiveness when appropriate.

      Experience of working in healthcare and a good understanding of Medical Terminology is essential, along with the ability to be proactive and able to work under own initiative. In-house training and continuing support will be provided.

      Working hours - 20 hours per week ideally over 3 days.

      Potential start date ASAP

      Job description

      Job responsibilities

      Job Summary

      To provide general secretarial / workflow administration support for all Doctors and Nurse Practitioners and occasionally to the Practice Nurses and General Manager.

      To provide an efficient audio, copy typing and word processing service for the GPs and Health Professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, minutes, memorandums, etc. in an accurate and professional manner and clinical data entry where required.

      To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.

      To liaise with patients/hospitals staff/consultants and any other outside agencies as required.

      DAILY DUTIES
      • Complete tasks on workflow
      • Process Out of Hours
      • Process docmans
      • Process ERISS notifications
      • Generate referrals using e-referral system

      Typing of referral letters from Lexacom and or by personal dictation using shorthand.

      • Typing minutes and protocols.
      • Patient/Hospital/Consultant queries.
      • Check e-referral system for rejections
      • Message taking
      • Collection of Mail from Admin Tray in doctors room for processing.
      • Checking and processing of emails etc. throughout the day.
      • Post Out.

      WEEKLY / MONTHLY DUTIES

      • Special patients note to Out of Hours.
      • Take & type minutes for the away days.
      • Administration of death correspondence.
      • Attend Away Days.

      GENERAL

      Participate in Health & Safety.

      Be aware of policies.

      EDUCATION

      • To be willing to increase your knowledge and skills via training courses etc.

      COMMUNICATION

      • To report any problems to the Assistant Practice Manager.
      • To ensure continuity of the smooth running of the Administration Office by arranging holiday cover with the Assistant Practice Manager.
