- Under the guidance of the Medical Affairs team, the intern will perform various tasks to support current projects
- Support development of new projects
- Create and maintain Medical Affairs SharePoint site, as well as Excel spreadsheets/ databases.
- Help transcribe and summarize scientific papers and poster presentations from various conferences.
- Perform all work in compliance with the company policy and within the guidelines of New World Medical Inc.’s Quality System.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, good clinical practice and FDA regulations.

- Receptive to training and capable of following directions
- Capable of managing several projects simultaneously
- Capable of working independently
- Ability to use MS-Office software (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and Adobe PDF effectively
- Read and interpret scientific literature
- At least a junior or senior in college in a health science or public health major
- Student in vision science, optometry, or medical program preferred
- Minimal experience in a corporate setting
- Familiarity with the glaucoma space or general ophthalmology concepts
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer printer, computer keyboard, calculator, etc.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
- Occasionally move about inside the office and travel to and from office buildings to access office equipment, attend meetings and/or events. This may include standing, bending and walking.
- Ability to listen and speak with employees and vendors. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- View and type on computer screens for long periods of time.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Affairs Intern is a member of the Medical Affairs department, supporting the Medical Affairs team. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, administrative, report writing, database maintenance, and supporting department projects and initiatives. This is a part-time, summer internship.
