What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist in the routine healthcare provided to persons in our care (PIOCs) at Columbia Correctional Institution
- Perform technical, patient-related, and clerical functions in an ambulatory care setting
- Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens and prepare them for testing
- Take and record vital signs and medical histories, and prepare patients for examination
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary patient care team including nurses and physicians

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Experience performing clerical services in a medical setting, including scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records
- Experience providing patient care services, including assisting with examinations and treatments
- Ability to collect laboratory specimens and prepare them for testing
- Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug screening and criminal background checks

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in a correctional healthcare environment
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
