What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist providers with patient preparation, office procedures, examination, and education of patients
- Conduct surveillance for transitions of care and follow-up tasks, including motivational interviews and coaching on disease management
- Perform selected patient/laboratory testing, including Point of Care Testing, and document activities in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR)
- Manage patient discharge activities and provide telephone screening services to gather patient information
- Insert intravenous catheters and prepare/administer oral drugs and injections as needed

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience working in an ambulatory care medical office or equivalent
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists within 1 year

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting strongly preferred
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
- For Cardiology offices only: 6 months experience in an ambulatory care medical office or equivalent, OR Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology/science, OR related major or successful completion of a cardiac technician course preferred
