What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Research and resolve claim denials in accordance with federal, state, and payor guidelines
- Identify trends in payor or system issues that lead to underpayments and take corrective action
- Communicate effectively with payors to escalate claim issues when necessary
- Obtain necessary documentation from treating facilities to facilitate payment from payors
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding their accounts and assist with payment plans

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the medical reimbursement field
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, with some college-level courses preferred
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word, including formatting reports and letters
- Ability to read and understand Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with billing 1500 and UB04 claim forms
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and multiple state guidelines
- Ability to operate office equipment and proficient typing skills (45 wpm)
- Understanding of non-contracted and contracted payer behaviors
- Familiarity with medical terminology
