      Job summary

      We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice and enhancing patient experience.

      Main duties of the job

      Responsibilities

      • Greet patients warmly and assist them with queries etc.
      • Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries efficiently.
      • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with data protection regulations.
      • Process insurance information and verify patient eligibility for services.
      • Coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers, relaying messages as necessary.
      • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, emails, scanning, prescriptions
      • Ensure the reception area is tidy and welcoming for patients.

      About us

      We are a busy GP practice with 3 GP partners, 2 practice nurses 1 HCA, practice manager, deputy manager and 9 reception staff.

      We use TPP system1 for our clinical system .

      We are looking for a part time receptionist to join our team, working 20-25 hours per week, hours to be agreed at interview.

Duties can include but are not limited to greeting and directing patients, patient registration, booking appointments, processing of information (electronic and hard copy)and assisting patients as required. Taking incoming calls and accurate message taking. Scanning, filing and retrieving paper work. Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines. Patient confidentiality at all times.

      • Experience of managing own workload
