      We are looking for a friendly, patient focused and efficient person to join our Reception Team.

      Role:

      The role is either a full-time position or two part-time positions, working a two week shift rota. Please specify in your application which hours you would prefer, though this will be discussed at interview.

      Full-time role, which is 37.5 hours per week:

      Week 1: Monday to Friday 08:00 16:00

      Week 2: Monday to Friday 10:30 18:30

      Part-time role 1 , which is 15 hours per week:

      Week 1: Monday & Tuesday 08:00 16:00

      Week 2: Monday & Tuesday 10:30 18:30

      Part-time role 2 , which is 22.5 hours per week:

      Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 08:00 16:00

      Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 10:30 18:30

      There may be an opportunity to choose alternative working days with the part-time role.

      This role will including receiving, assisting and directing patient enquiries in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

      Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

      Comfortable working area with air con for summer months

      Main duties of the job

      The candidate should be well-organised, have an excellent telephone manner, ability to cope under pressure, good communication skills and computer literate. Preferably with experience of Emis Web but training can be provided

      It is essential that the candidate have a caring approach, and a good listener! Be a team player and motivated to providing a caring and efficient service to our patients as part of a wider team.

      About us

      We are a well organised friendly, adaptable GMS Practice. We operate from a purpose built surgery on the outskirts of Worcester. We have just over 11,500 patients. We have a strong GP, ANP, PA and nurse team who are supported by Management, Administration and Reception.

      We are a part of the Worcester City Primary Care Network and have strong links with associated teams within this organisation.

      We encourage staff participation in regular meetings with protected learning times and continuing role development.

      • To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures.
      • To work in accordance of written protocols
      • Patient navigation/Signposting to various services and PCN Hub
      • Scanning documents

      Reception

      • Receiving patients
      • Consulting with members of practice clinical teams
      • Navigation of patients to correct services and triage appointments
      • Be able to cover for annual leave/sickness when required

      Appointments

      • Process appointment requests for today future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
      • Deal with visits requests

      Computer

      • Registrations of new patients computer data entry and medical records.
      • Process patients change of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area).

      Telephone

      • Have working knowledge of our new cloud telephony telephone system (training given).

      Other Tasks

      • Maintain a Clear desk policy and adhere to practice policies
      • Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
      • Any other tasks allocated by managers
