      Position Overview:

      The Medical Review Officer utilizes clinical expertise to review applicant medical records against appropriate criteria in conjunction with US Government contract medical requirements

      Responsibilities:

      • Performs accurate and timely submission of all medical administrative and review related documents to appropriate parties
      • Maintains medical records confidentiality through proper use of computer passwords, maintenance of secured files, in accordance with HIPAA polices
      • Fosters positive and professional relationships and act as liaison with vendors to ensure effective working relationships and team building in order to facilitate the medical review process
      • Under general supervision including that of the Operational Medical Director (OMD), is responsible for the interpretation and analysis of medical examination results in accordance with contractual and regulatory guidelines for various occupational examination and screenings
      • Exercises exceptional attention to detail in the review of examination results
      • Applies contractual and regulatory guidelines and interprets nuances of exam results
      • Maintains a solid understanding of the specific contract’s guidelines, requirements, and addendums
      • Participates in process improvement reviews on policies, objectives, and department operations

      Required Qualifications:

      • Must possess National or State Paramedic license
      • Must possess minimum five (5) years of clinical experience
      • Two (2) of these years must be in an administrative capacity
      • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government SECRET Clearance
      • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
      • Must possess office of Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Excel

      Travel: Occasional travel to the McLean, VA office and possible travel overseas to austere environments

      Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

      Physical Demands: The physical demands listed below, though not fully inclusive, are that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The employee is frequently required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
