      Position Summary

      Scribes are motivated undergraduates or recent graduates trained on medical documentation and clinic flow to assist providers with efficiency. Scribes generally accompany one provider per shift to complete their charts and help department flow. Our providers include residents, fellows and attending physicians. UNC scribes work in department clinics. Scribes may have to work holidays and must have access to a reliable vehicle.

      Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

      Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require registration as a Nurse Aide by the North Carolina Board of Nursing or certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA.)

      Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

      Scribes must have taken college-level introductory biology, introductory chemistry, and anatomy or comparable courses.

      Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

      Prior experience in clinical setting preferred.
