      Job summary

      Provide an effective high quality secretarial support to the GPs and Managing Partner.

      • Managing the practice generic mailbox, this includes;
      • Invoices
      • Answer general queries
      • Patient clinic letters scanned urgent clinic letters to GP

      Main duties of the job

      Undertake any relevant duties appropriate to the grade at the request of the Managing Partner.

      • Accurate typing/audio typing/electronic transmission of:
      • Medical records
      • Referral letters
      • Medical reports
      • General correspondence to patients, solicitors, other health services providers and contractors

      • Accurate typing/audio typing/electronic transmission of:
        • Medical records
        • Referral letters
        • Medical reports
        • General correspondence to patients, solicitors, other health services providers and contractors
        • GP Tasks
        • Photocopying
        • Death Certificates
        • Fit notes
        • GOS 18s (Optician's letters) Generate referral
        • Chase hospital appointments / clinic letters
        • Document management worklist

      • Managing the practice generic mailbox, this includes;
        • Invoices
        • Manage correspondence for e.g. NHS 111 / discharge summaries etc
        • Answer general queries
        • Manage safeguarding/prescription queries
        • Patient clinic letters scanned urgent clinic letters to GP
        • Monitor urgent radiology emails liaise with GP

      Requests for patient printouts GP surgeries / HMP Prison / CHMT

      • Management and monitoring of E-Referrals worklists

      • Liaise with patients and other health care associated bodies in relation to the above.

      • Deal with requests for medical reports and medical records from insurance companies and government bodies in line with agreed procedures

      • Accurate and appropriate use of NHS systems and IT systems to maintain good data quality and ensure that patient and practice records are of a high standard.

      • Assist in the development of systems including, for example
        • Referral protocols
        • NHS coding
        • Electronic processes

      • Manage BACS payments, cheques and petty cash in relation to insurance reports etc monthly
