- Bachelor's Degree PLUS four (4) years of project/program management experience.
- Masters of Social Work, Mental Health or Special Education with (2) two years of program management experience.
- Three (3) years of early childhood experience.
- Masters of Social Work, Mental Health or Special Education PLUS (5) five years early childhood. Licensed in the following but not excluded: LMSW, Traveling Arkansas Professional Pathways (TAPP) Trainer, Arkansas Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant AR-ECMHC.
- Develops and implement a referral process for any suspected developmental delays or mental health concerns, including a tracking system for follow-up.
- Ensures that individualized services are effectively provided to children with diagnosed or suspected disabilities and/or mental health concerns. .
- Establishes policies and procedures for mental health and disabilities services within the program.
- Works closely with teaching staff to enhance the classroom environment, develop intervention strategies, individual behavior plans, and instructional support related to mental health and disabilities.
- Trains staff on referral processes, policies, procedures, and developmentally appropriate practices concerning mental health and disabilities.
- Ensures that children with special needs or mental health concerns are referred appropriately and receive the necessary services.
- Coordinates the recruitment of children with disabilities into the program, working closely with other staff and community agencies.
- Collaborates with Mental Health and Local Education Agencies in referring children for services under IDEA Part B, Part C, and mental health services.
- Maintains data on all children referred as required by the Head Start Performance Standards and for purposes of ICDCRAL reporting and Federal Reviews.
- Works with parents and staff to address the needs of children with special needs.
- .Supervises the Mental Health and Disabilities Resource Specialist to ensure effective service delivery.
- Performs related responsibilities as required or other duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the program.
