      Job summary

      1 x 37.5 hour post and 1 x 30 hour post available. These will be offered on a fixed term basis until 31st March 2026.

      Integrated Offender Management (IOM) was introduced in 2009. Its aim is to bring a cross-agency response to crime and reoffending threats faced by local communities. Service users will be jointly managed by Police, Probation and other partner agencies; to reduce reoffending and make communities safer. You will be working closely with another mental health nurse in IOM and will have support and supervision from the wider IOM health team across the West Midlands.This role will cover Birmingham and Solihull probation/ police stations and aims to:o Provide assessment and formulation to people referred into the service.o Offer support and treatment for the Integrated Offender Management population.o Refer to primary mental health, secondary mental health services where care coordination is needed.o Develop close partnerships, training and support across Birmingham police, Probation and the third sector.

      Main duties of the job

      Your role sits within the criminal justice teams and fills the gap between short term criminal justice services such as Liaison and Diversion and Primary and secondary mental health Teams.The main duties include:o Assessment of mental health needs.o Participate in the care planning in conjunction with service, carer, probation and Birmingham Police.o Evaluation of individual treatment plans.o Contribute to regular IOM case management meetings, ensuring that colleagues from other agencies are kept fully informed of the status and progress of IOM individuals on caseload.o Risk management.o Handover to other services as needed.
