Functional Cost Management (FCM) forecasts, analyzes and reports indirect expenses while monitoring the performance of indirect rates and discretionary spending. FCM is a well-rounded role that exposes an employee to the various facets of BAE Systems finance, cost management and functional leadership.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include:

• Business Partner to the Finance Function – forecasting and communicating expense and indirect rate analysis
• Support staff responsible for other functional forecasts and sector level expense reporting
• Reviewing and monitoring risks/opportunities to indirect rates and communicating impacts
• Financial cost reporting for GEOINT Defense CAS
• Collaborating with all functions to update financial forecast quarterly
• Development of the Forward Pricing Rate Proposal and Facilities Capital Cost of Money submissions to the US Government
• Supporting weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting requirements both internally and externally
• Collaboration with Government Compliance to support DCAA audits
• Ad hoc reporting as needed

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related degree / equivalent experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• Demonstrated problem solving and in-depth analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and present financial data to other functions in an accurate, concise, and understandable manner
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize and self-manage a multi-tasked workload in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to make decisions with sound judgment while complying with policies and procedures

Preferred Skills and Education

• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Capability to communicate and present financial data to other functions and functional leadership
• Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, SmartView, EMS, Midas
• Experience with forecasting and analysis, particularly in a US Defense environment
• Experience in finance functional disciplines
• Understanding and knowledge industry practices and standards as well as company policies
• Understanding of Government Regulations: Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
