What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage and coordinate with third-party vendors for Federal, State, and local tax withholdings, ensuring accuracy in payroll tax administration for 35,000 employees
- Oversee year-end payroll processes, including W-2 and W-2C preparations, while auditing and resolving tax variances
- Support compliance and audit requests at state and federal levels, performing control self-assessments to ensure adherence to regulations
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of tax notices from regulatory agencies
- Support complex payroll projects, including integrations and reorganizations within the Payroll department
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of professional Payroll and Tax management experience
- Experience in payroll accounting and payroll tax for large corporations, particularly in a multi-state environment
- Proficiency with enterprise-wide payroll software and Microsoft Office
- Strong managerial and coaching skills with the ability to articulate complex subject matter effectively
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Demonstrated experience performing accounting services as a defense/government contractor in a regulated organization, specifically DCAA
- Experience processing payroll and payroll tax across multiple legal entities
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft Payroll/Oracle Payroll
- Payroll certifications (including FPC or CPP) preferred
- Experience in a shared service environment
