      The Manager, Labor Relations will support labor relations activities as assigned by the Director, Labor Relations. Primary support will include, but not be limited to, first chair collective bargaining, developing and leading labor and employee relations programs, projects and strategies, developing and administering training programs, and other administrative duties as required by our collective bargaining agreements.

      This role works with the Director, Labor Relations and serves as a resource for our field Human Resources team in a variety of labor relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary action and employee relations issues involving union represented employees, labor relations training and development, contract administration, collaborating with payroll and compensation, supporting data-to-action employee relations strategies for union-free locations, and assisting with collective bargaining.

      What you'll do:

      • Participate in and lead assigned negotiations following protocol

      • Conduct research on union related matters; analyze CBAs to develop interpretation of intent, spirit, and terms of contracts; serve on and represent management in labor contract negotiations

      • Furnish information, such as reference documents and statistical data concerning labor legislation, labor market conditions, prevailing union and management practices, wage and salary surveys, and employee benefits programs, for use in review of current contract provisions and proposed changes.

      • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with operations leadership, employees and union representatives

      • Administer the Company’s Workforce Continuity Program

      • Review all discipline proposals for union-represented employees

      • Develop training on how to conduct an investigation, handle a grievance and provide day-to-day grievance support for the business

      • Oversee resolution of escalated disputes both formal and informal

      • Proactively support company growth’s and operational excellence by helping business partners maintain their direct relationships with their employees

      • Utilize the Leadership Index Data and other KPIs in collaboration with HR partners to identify at-risk locations

      • Develop and Deliver training programs to empower front line managers to build employee relationships

      • Provide on-going employee relations support through development of training and support programs

      • Respond to union recognition petitions

      • Liaise with Shared Services to ensure payroll and HRIS compliance, including CBA analysis, auditing, and other projects as assigned

      • Bargaining results tracking and reporting of annual results to HR and Executive Leadership

      Requirements:

      • Degree: BA/BS

      • Preferred: JD, PHR or SPHR certification

      • Minimum 5 years progressive and responsible generalist experience in all facets of labor relations with a strong background in employee relations, employment practices, learning and assessment, compensation administration.

      • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of the National Labor Relations Act (“NLRA”)

      • Demonstrated experience with union recognition proceedings (elections pursuant to the NLRA, card check agreements, de-certifications, etc.)

      • Experience with Project Labor Agreements, Prevailing Wage Compliance, and the NLRA vis-à-vis the Construction industry strongly preferred

      • Demonstrated success independently managing projects; developing training programs; and implementing business processes

      • Experience working in a multi-state, decentralized company

      • Strong communication and presentation skills

      • Strong analytical skills; ability to consistently track, interpret and act upon metrics results

      • Strong Project Management and negotiation Skills, P&L familiarity; business acumen

      • Technical HR knowledge – NLRA, EEO/AA, FLSA, OSHA, Federal/local laws including prevailing wage

      • Time management, ability to handle multiple demands and manage complex, competing priorities

      • Strong relationship building, internal consulting and interpersonal skills

      • Strong computer skills (Tableau, Outlook, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Workday, HRIS/payroll systems experience)

      • Remote or normal office conditions with minimum of 50%+ travel required

      • Based in the Northeast or Great Lakes Regions preferred; may be flexible for the right candidate near a major airport

      • Willing to travel to Stamford, CT Headquarters on a monthly basis
