      St. Mary Magdalene Catholic School, Humble, TX

      St. Mary Magdalene Catholic School is seeking a talented and knowledgeable history teacher. In addition to relevant experience and a strong education background, successful candidates must demonstrate a passion for working with students, an engaging teaching style, and a commitment to the overall growth of students at St. Mary Magdalene and furthering the School’s Mission including strategic initiatives on community and inclusion.       Primary Responsibilities:
      • Serve as an advisor to students
      • Additional duties include a section of study hall and/or a section of substitute coverage
      • Actively pursue professional growth and continually strive to improve curriculum and instruction
      • Collaborate and coordinate closely with grade-level, department, and course teams
      • Willingly take on responsibility above and beyond classroom duties
      • Cheerfully perform duties required of all faculty members as outlined in employment contract
      • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and instructional materials that facilitate active learning
      • Possess highly effective classroom management and time management skills
      • Embrace classroom technology and use it as a tool for learning
      • Create and timely post robust plans which align with curriculum, instruction, and assessment, and integrate technology into the curriculum
      • Use instruction time efficiently and effectively
      • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments in a timely fashion and update systems accordingly
      • Embrace new challenges
      • Work collaboratively with Department Chair, department members, Dean of Academics, and Principal to build curriculum, create assessments, review best practices, and create clear daily goals for academic instruction
      • Evaluate student progress effectively, keeping records and reports required by the School
      • Challenge course lesson plans to align with best practices and updated knowledge
      • Approach duties enthusiastically and optimistically; be willing to coach and be coached

      Required Qualifications :
      • Commitment to embrace the Mission of St. Mary Magadalene
      • Bachelor’s degree in related field; advanced degree preferred
      • Minimum of 24 hours of college level history courses
      • Teaching certificate or twelve credit hours in education courses
      • Prior secondary teaching experience preferred; AP instruction experience a plus
