- Read blueprints and schematics.
- Apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other weldable materials as specified by work orders, blueprints, sketches, or charts.
- Lay out and mark weld points on parts or sub-assemblies.
- Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Engage in fabrication and other tasks when welding work is slower.
- 2+ years of demonstrated professional welding experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of all safety procedures pertaining to welding.
- Experience with welding, press brake, shears, burn table, blueprint reading, weld symbols, and mechanical abilities.
- Experience welding out of positions (vertical, overhead, pulse, or short arc), occasionally requiring the use of a ladder.
- Weld certification, preferably AWS D 1.1 structural welding on MIG (3G or 4G) and familiarity with NDT (Nondestructive testing) PT and MT.
- Experience in TIG welding is a plus.

Work Environment
The work environment is a fast-paced, dirty manufacturing setting.. The industrial and manufacturing shop primarily deals with steel fabrications for blast containment receptacles. Most welding is done on a flat surface. Candidates must be comfortable with additional tasks such as painting and sweeping if necessary.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
