What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform molecular biology and genetic experiments under the supervision of a principal investigator or lab manager
- Conduct routine laboratory duties, including maintaining glassware, preparing reagents, and disposing of hazardous waste
- Collect and process blood specimens from submitting laboratories
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and follow standard operating procedures
- Participate in the development of research protocols and attend relevant scientific seminars

What is Required (Qualifications):
- AS or BS in Biology, Molecular Biology, or Microbiology
- 1-3 years of experience in clinical microbiology or molecular biology outside of an academic setting
- Proficiency with whole genome sequencing and real-time PCR data interpretation
- Experience with Oxford Nanopore instruments and high-throughput sequencing environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring frequent standing and repetitive motion

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- GLP/GCP training
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities
- Capability to perform genomic extraction, library preparation, and sequencing on bacterial samples
- Skilled in performing rapid response testing for potential Carbapenemase Producing Organisms (CPO)
