      Multi-Disciplinary Team Lead (MDT) Lead

      The London Bridge Hospital

      Full time – 37.5 hrs

      We have an exciting opportunity for an MDT Lead to join our London Bridge Hospital campus, rated as 'outstanding' by the CQC. The London Bridge Hospital campus in South East London encompasses an outpatients and diagnostic centre in The Shard; the large world-class hospital based at the Tooley Street site; Private Care at Guys, which is on the top four floors of Guys Hospital Cancer Centre; and outpatient and diagnostic centres across the City.

      As an MDT Lead you will support the growth and development of specialist, complex MDTs across The London Bridge Hospital, ensuring each is aligned to National Standards and is accessible to all consultants practising within HCA. You will ensure the appropriate infrastructure and support is in place to manage the MDT process and will act as a point of escalation where concerns have been raised.

      Duties and responsibilities -

      • Support the development of MDTs across the hospital to ensure all consultants have access to an appropriate specialty MDT

      • Establish and maintain relationships with key clinicians and MDT chairs to drive improvement of data collection though MDT meetings

      • Lead on assuring the application and adherence of HCA’s quality governance framework and HCA MDT policy standards.

      • Assist in collating all relevant clinical information, investigations and imaging for patients ahead of presentation at the MDT.

      • Verify the outcome and next step for each patient with the chair and record electronically. Track all MDT decisions so patients are actively managed.

      • Ensure relevant data collection systems are employed and data analysis undertaken and presented to clinical teams to evidence clinical outcomes.

      • Ensure data is collated and uploaded onto national databases or registries as required

      • Promote a positive learning environment where changes are established and embedded to improve patient safety, experience and outcomes

      • Actively participate in multi-professional meetings and senior management team meetings acting on behalf of the service

      • Leads the development, management and promotion of services which support improved patient outcomes through high standard MDT

      • Line management of MDT coordinator

      What you’ll bring:

      • Prior experience of working within a multidisciplinary team environment in a healthcare setting and experience of an MDT coordinators role or equivalent.

      • Ability to lead and influence change

      • Strong computer literacy

      • Organisational skills

      • Attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret complex data

      • Ability to coach and mentor colleagues to allow workload to be prioritised and delegated according to circumstance.
