Job Title: Museum Security Officer (Part Time) - 994099 Location: Fort Lauderdale-Davie, Florida Work Type: Part Time with Full Benefits Job Category: Non-Exempt Hiring Range: 15.75 Pay Basis: Hourly
Subject to Grant Funding?: No Essential Job Functions: 1. Provides ongoing protection, safety and security of works of art, property, people of NSU to ensure safety from dangers.
2. Uses monitoring systems when making the rounds to ensure attentiveness to all conditions in and around the facility.
3. Takes appropriate preventative or corrective action to ensure security of the facility.
Marginal Job Functions: Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Must possess excellent communication skills.
2. Knowledge of security cameras, monitors and recording devices.
3. Ability to communicate effectively with others.
4. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.
5. Ability to work nights and weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
2. Must be able to stand for a prolonged period of time- up to 8 hours.
3. Must be able to sit for a prolonged period of time- up to 8 hours.
4. May be required to climb stairs, bend, and walk for a prolonged period of time - up to 8 hours.
Job Requirements: Required Certifications/Licensures: Florida D Security License Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Major (if required): Required Experience: One (1) year of security, military, or police experience.
