      We have a unique opportunity for a National Media & Communication Manager to join our Corporate Affairs & Marketing team. This position is based out of our Pyrmont office in Sydney.

      You will be responsible for leading development and implementation of external communication for John Holland Group, supporting work-winning and reinforcing corporate brand positioning.

      About the Role

      • Lead development and implementation of John Holland’s external communication strategy and marketing campaigns, ensuring high-quality outcomes aligned with organisational priorities.
      • Lead planning and development of material for media opportunities, reputation and issue management, digital marketing campaigns, and web content to support work-winning and reinforce corporate brand positioning.
      • Build and maintain effective relationships with media, key customers, and government stakeholders on behalf of John Holland, including journalists, editors, ministerial staff, and government departments.
      • Analyse and understand the political and current-affairs environment and provide strategic advice to manage the potential impact on John Holland.
      • Provide strategic advice to John Holland’s CEO and ELT regarding reputation and contentious issue management
      • Develop processes to identify, anticipate, and respond to emerging and sensitive communication issues in a way that reflects and protects John Holland’s brand and reputation.
      • Provide expert advice and information to internal stakeholders on marketing communication to support business objectives and present recommendations to support delivery.
      • Develop key messages for target audiences and maximise the brand benefits of storytelling on all John Holland communication opportunities.
      • Use strong interpersonal skills and ability to build productive working relationships with internal stakeholders to source stories and opportunities.
      • Develop and lead approval processes with stakeholders, projects, and executives.
      • Strategically evaluate and report on the effectiveness of communication planning and facilitate better use existing communication channels.
      • Share on-call responsibilities (every second weekend)

      About You:

      This role will see you holding a Tertiary qualification in public relations, journalism, marketing or a related discipline. You will have previous experience in a multi-disciplinary communications role.

      Your high-level stakeholder relationship management and influencing skills, along with your clear and confident written and verbal communication style, will see you succeed in the role.
